Rep.-elect Glardon thanks residents, family for support

State Rep.-elect Ben Glardon today thanked area voters, his family and friends for their support during his successful campaign to serve in the Michigan House of Representatives.

Glardon on Tuesday was elected as the state representative for the 85th District, which includes all of Shiawassee County and the townships of Bath, Victor and Ovid in Clinton County. "I want to thank the people of the 85th District for their vote of confidence," Glardon said. "I am extremely humbled by their support. I also want to publicly thank my family for their encouragement and understanding, especially during the long hours of the campaign. Meeting people at their doorstep was a tremendous opportunity for me because I was able to learn even more about the issues important to our area.

A graduate of Corunna High School, Glardon has been a licensed Realtor since 1983 and president of Glardon Auction Service. He is a member of Farm Bureau and is actively involved in youth agricultural programs.

"I look forward to working with newly elected Governor Rick Snyder and Senator Joe Hune to turn Michigan around," Glardon said. "We must create a business climate to give local families more job opportunities. I will take my conservative principles along with my agricultural and business background to Lansing to work hard for local residents.
